MacKenzie had her first Desert Devils Cheer Performance yesterday and she did awesome! This was just a "family performance" at their gym before they compete next month for the first time. This year Jeff and I had a huge decision to make for MacKenzie. We didn't know if we should keep her in her dance team at Dancenergy or move her into cheer at Desert Devils. We couldn't do both so we decided to move on to cheer and at first it was really hard because it was all new for MacKenzie and she didn't have any friends in cheer and she missed her friends from dance. In the last couple months she has been so excited to go to cheer practice each week and has made some friends. We have noticed she wants to practice at home all the time which she never wanted to do with dance. She goes around the house all the time doing cartwheels and flips! After seeing MacKenzie perform yesterday and watching all the older teams who were just amazing, Jeff and I know it was the best decision we could have made for MacKenzie! Desert Devils is very strict and the cheer teams is not something they take lightly and I know for some kids that is not a good fit for them, but this is just what MacKenzie needs! Every time we see MacKenzie perform she just shines and is always smiling and does her very best!
You Rock MacKenzie!
